Sergeant Shay Michaeli, of blessed memory, was a fighter in the classified Battalion 5114, an athlete, and a person who truly saw others.
Before he fell on April 4, 2024, during the Swords of Iron War, he took part in Operation “Golden Hand”, in which two hostages were rescued alive from the Gaza Strip.
Shay combined excellence, humility, responsibility, and rare human sensitivity, leaving behind a path that continues to inspire people, communities, and educational and values-based initiatives.
Shay was 19 and a half years old when he fell.
