Shay was not satisfied with conventional solutions. When faced with a problem, he sought to understand in depth what was really happening, and find the most efficient and smart way forward.
For example, during a classified technological activity, one of the systems did not respond as expected. While others turned to check the technical documentation, Shay paused for a moment, analyzed the situation and said:
“Maybe we should just make the system think everything is fine?”
He played with the settings, explored unconventional options, and within minutes the system was back up and running. It was an example of creative, calm, and precise thinking that succeeds in solving problems instead of getting stuck in them.
