Seeing others – the ability to discern the needs of others, be there for them, and support them at the right time.
Someone will ask for help, but will know when a little encouragement, a kind word, or a quiet presence is needed.
For example, during a table tennis training camp at the Wingate Institute, one of the players had mental difficulties at the beginning of his stay. Shay noticed this immediately, invited him for a tour of the complex, and in a simple, direct conversation, managed to dispel the feeling of alienation and connect him to the team.
In another example, during a military operation, one of the soldiers on the team seemed stressed and insecure. Shay approached him gently and said with a smile:
“Don’t worry, if we get stuck, we can always say that Xi told us to try it.”
The little joke relieved him, but more importantly, it made it clear to him that he was not alone and that there was someone standing by his side.

Shay didn’t wait for someone to ask for help.
