Permission granted for publication: Sergeant Shay Michaeli was selected as an Independence Day honoree and the certificate of merit was given to the family after his fall
On May 27, 2024, the family of the Hero of Israel, Sergeant Shay Michaeli, received the certificate of excellence that, even before his fall on April 4, 2024, during a classified operational activity in the war, was planned to be awarded to Shay for his work in the classified General Staff Electronic Warfare Battalion ‘Psagot’ 5114, on Independence Day 5744 2024.
In a moving ceremony held at the battalion base and in the presence of the battalion’s soldiers, commanders and many guests, Shay’s family was given a certificate of merit by his commander, Lt. Col. A., and speeches were made in praise of Shay and the story of his heroism. The photos were taken by a military photographer and edited within the limits of military censorship before being given to Shay’s family.
